It's official — the new Formosa Santa Monica has opened its doors in the spot vacated by POP Sound at 625 Arizona Ave.
Formosa Group said a number of former POP staffers have returned to work at Formosa, including mixers Nick Bozzone, Mitch Dorf, Peter Rincon, Tim West, and Tim Hoogenakker, ADR mixer Michael Miller, executive producers Paula Arnett and Jennifer Bowman, and facility engineer Eric Beam.
"The opening of the Formosa Santa Monica facility, with upgrades and renovations underway, marks another important milestone" for Formosa Group, said President and COO Robert C. Rosenthal in a prepared statement.
POP Sound was shuttered in July by its owner, Empire Investment Holdings, following the bankruptcy of Soundelux. The new facility's owner, Formosa Group, was formed last year by parent company Picture Head with headquarters at The Lot in West Hollywood and locations elsewhere in West Hollywood, West L.A. and Burbank.
