Stefan Sonnenfeld, the renowned colorist and Company 3 co-founder who originally got into post-production with a summer job delivering dailies for TV's Miami Vice, has been named chief creative officer of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group.
Sonnenfed will keep his seat at the color grading control panel for film and commercial projects while developing new customer relationships in North America, the company said. Sonnenfeld's recent credits as DI colorist include the feature films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zoolander 2, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Super Bowl 2016 spots for Audi ("Commander") and Suntrust ("Hold Your Breath").
"Stefan's incredible talent and commitment have been instrumental in transforming Deluxe's Creative Services into the premier digital artistic production and post-production business that it is today," said Deluxe CEO John Wallace in a prepared statement.
Company 3 was founded in 1997 by Sonnenfeld, Mike Pethel, and Noel Castley-Wright. It was purchased by Liberty Media in 2000, then acquired by Deluxe in 2010. Today, Company 3 fields a team of 16 senior colorists (including Sonnenfeld), eight more colorists, and three sound designers.
