After debuting the software’s new features at SIGGRAPH 2018 last month, Maxon has made the latest version of Cinema 4D, Release 20 (R20), available for download. Cinema 4D R20 will be an automatic upgrade for existing customers with an active Maxon Service Agreement.
The new release of the 3D modeling and motion graphics application includes MoGraph Fields, a new system for controlling the strength of different effects through layering and grouping; Volume-Based Modeling, a new procedural modeling workflow that can be used to create complex objects from primitive or polygon objects using Boolean operations; and a node-based material system with more than 150 different shaders.
Cinema 4D R20 will be displayed at the Maxon Booth, Hall 7, A59, at IBC in Amsterdam later this month. It runs on Mac OS X (10.9.5 or higher with 64-bit Intel processor) and Windows (7 SP1 64-bit, 8 64-bit, 8.1 64-bit or 10 64-bit). C4D Studio R20 sells for $3,695 plus an additional $725 for an annual Maxon Service Agreement after purchase.
