Anonymous Content, adding to its already ultra-diverse and talented directorial roster,
recently signed the British spot and music video helmer, Jake Nava. With this signing,
anonymous adds one of the most prolific and varied talents in the business. Nava is
currently riding the wave of success of his recent anti-gun short for London Metropolitan
Police's “Operation Trident,” as well as a powerful portfolio that includes projects for
Tommy Hilfiger, Bacardi, Axe, Puma, HSBC and many more. Nava’s directorial credits also
include chart-topping music video clips for Beyonce, Usher, Lindsay Lohan, Kelis, Britney
Spears, Brandy, and Dido. In joining team anonymous, Nava looks to explore new artistic
media while continuing to add to his wide-ranging and critically-acclaimed resume.
Anonymous content’s commercial team will be significantly
strengthened by Nava’s flair for storytelling through visually
stimulating, hip, and stylish mediums. Nava’s skill in commercial
projects ranges from high fashion to visual to comedy,
including the recent spot for comfortable high heels that
spilled into stills and billboards covering an entire building in
Times Square. He also directed the “Good-Bad” campaign,
delivering the feeling of an interactive stadium tour for the
World Cup, as well as a faux-fashion comedy spot highlighting the stretchiness of
underwear. Thrilled to be a part of anonymous, Nava says that, “There’s a kind of diverse
spectrum of production at anonymous and it really suits the way I work. It is a great
opportunity to apply my style vocabulary in the service of an idea.”

The goals of anonymous and Nava perfectly align in their collective vision to work across
all media and deliver a new, unique, and real perspective. Partner/Head of
Commercials Dave Morrison reflects on Nava’s recent work, “Jake brings this experience
of inventing, then re-inventing high-profile, impactful brands…from Beyonce to Britney,
Axe to Puma, the guy just gets it….he’s the perfect example of a filmmaker that
understands advertising, videos and how to blend the two into compelling
advertainment.” Nava has generated quite a bit of buzz around his recent anti-gun
crime piece running in the U.K., which was done in a music video-style short film with
dialogue. Yet, looking to the future Nava adds that, “I’m not interested in regurgitating
the work I’ve already done and was drawn to anonymous because they really nurture
progress and evolution.”

Prior to signing with Anonymous, Nava has been jet-setting from London to LA to
Argentina and beyond, directing commercials, new media, and videos. Recent work
includes the Rolling stones in Canada for new album, Kate Moss for Rimmel, George
Michael, Pink, and Mariah Carey. He is also responsible for several of the most successful
videos in recent history, including Usher’s “Burn,” Beyonce’s “Naughty Girl,” which took
home the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video, and “Crazy In Love,” which
garnered three Moonmen from the network and took home Best Video and Best R&B
Video at the 2004 CADS awards in London. Nava has been profiled in the directors issues
of ‘boards and SHOOT; he has also been featured in Trace, In-Style Magazine, and Film &
Video.

Nava, who made a reputation for himself with videos for a wide range of artists, including
Ms. Dynamite, Atomic Kitten, Holly Valance, Roni Size & Reprazent, and The Lo-Fidelity
Allstars, grew up in North London and has a rare combination of street cred coupled with
European refinement (his father is from Mexico, his mother is Dutch-Austrian). The blend is
evident in his work, which often layers a coat of classic gloss over a rough-edged
videoscape. Perhaps this explains the diversity of both his video and commercial work.
The London-based University of Westminster grad, whose work spans the genre spectrum,
has cultivated a following among artists from The Cranberries to Tina Turner; his work for
Tommy Hilfiger, Bacardi, and Puma showcases a combination of striking visuals, an R&B
vibe, and quirky comedy. Nava joined anonymous content in August 2006.
