announced other interesting products for editors who are demanding that
their tools become ever more flexible, including a $5,000 software-only
version of Media Composer that will finally allow Avid editors to take
that show on the road as well as a 36 Mbps variation of its DNxHD codec
meant to enable HD offline applications. The company hopes it will
offer an especially good balance between quality and efficiency for HD
dailies.
