2. What have you found is the best tool or innovation that has come out in the last year?
The continuing refinement of Avid software and the evolution of After Effects.
This sounds like I’m selling, but I rely on these tools every day. There now are really very few limitations in what I can do.

3. The project (film, television, commercial or music video) that most impressed you in the last year? Why?
The American version of “The Office.” A major network was willing to take chances and allow audiences to think, to participate in the comedy by making connections themselves. Really brilliant television.

4. The best or favorite project that you worked on in the past year? And why?
City Harvest with Timothy White and Elicia Ho. Collaborating with these two amazing people, and helping thousands of New Yorkers? I couldn’t ask for more in a project.

Company X’s Terence Ziegler Co-Directs, Edits City Harvest
Harrison Ford and Moby lent their talents to “We Are City Harvest,” a new PSA co-directed and edited by Terence Ziegler of Company X (www.companyx.tv). The project is close to the hearts of Ziegler and his co-directors, Timothy White and Elicia Ho, all of whom have been involved with the organization for the past three years. City Harvest, a non-profit organization founded in 1982, is the world's first food rescue program. The spot documents the good works of City Harvest, which this year alone will rescue over 19 million pounds of excess food from all segments of the food industry and deliver it to more than 500 agencies throughout the five boroughs. Ziegler, White, and Ho, followed a single truck on its delivery route. Each week, a fleet of 15 trucks helps over 260,000 hungry New Yorkers find their next meal.
“We just wanted to depict the truck as the hero of the film,” Ziegler explained. “In NYC, people identify with City Harvest’s mission and we’re committed to lending our support in any way we can.” Armed with Canon and Sony 24p cameras, the directors split up into two crews, one crew inside the City Harvest truck and another outside in a van. “At one point, I was hanging outside of the van shooting the truck and Timothy was on top of the truck,” Ziegler recalled. “It sounds pretty renegade, but we knew exactly the shots we wanted to get. And the NYPD were helpful even though we weren’t an official crew.”
A busy celebrity photographer whose recent poster work includes Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Rescue Me, White sits on the City Harvest board, financed the project. He didn’t hesitate to call in favors when necessary. “I’ve known Harrison for years, and we needed help with the voiceover,” he said simply. “We’ve taken on the responsibility of producing visuals for City Harvest over these last few years, so we do what we have to do.” When White ‘ who has, in years past, solicited the help of stars such as Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Glenn Close, and Whoopi Goldberg ‘ viewed Ziegler’s temp track with Moby’s “My Weakness,” again he picked up the phone. “I love working with Terence, who is extremely creative, funny, and it’s a wonderful collaboration because he always immerses himself in the project as a creative partner. Moreover, in this case he was clearly sensitive to the subject, and wanted to get involved again. Terence really stepped up yet again and brought an energy that takes the project to the next level.”
