We’re working on an Amex campaign with Oglivy & Jesse Dylan, a Maxell spot that will air during the X-Games and an Axe ad. We have a lot of X’s on our plate.
The best tool that’s come out in the last year would probably be Pandora though it doesn’t really relate to what we do so, I’ll go with Stormjump, Camelspace, Frommage. They’re cool, and they’re smart.
The Psyop piece for MTV HD was great. It was just so innovative, elegant and new. Musically, I was really impressed with Smoosh. They’re breaking a lot of borders in creating music that doesn’t follow any pre-requisite as to what is right and wrong musically or in terms of craftsmanship. They’ll let a lot of mistakes go because they don’t care.
Schwab, Amex, VH1’s The Drug Years and One Rat Short. The Schwab campaign was one of the most exciting and best campaigns we’ve worked on in a long time and it speaks to all our attributes. With Amex, The Drug Years, a documentary for VH1, and One Rat Short, an animated film directed by Alex Weil – they were just great stories that translated to great film and our industry is driven by great film. It allows us to make our music more adventurous.
I don’t have an iPod yet. I’m waiting for them to really catch on, but I do like Liam Lynch’s “Fake Songs”, The Fray, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Christina Aguilera and Jon Brion. I just recently picked up the new Thom Yorke album too.
