EDIUS Pro version 4 is ready and Grass Valley is making it available for a free 30-day trial. This is a good chance to try the software's real time, multiformat editing capabilities and see if you like it.
EDIUS Pro version 4 features multicamera support (up to eight cameras with real-time monitor preview and a master channel preview that displays all eight angles), nested sequence editing (allowing users to work on sections of a production as separate timelines and nest them into a master project), improved trimming tools, alpha-channel support in the EDIUS HQ codec, and keyframe support for frame-by-frame color-correction.
EDIUS Pro 4 also supports Windows Media files and includes EDIUS Speed Encoder for HDV.
EDIUS Pro supports all video formats with multi-track, mixed-format HD/SD editing, compositing, chroma keying, titling and timeline output capabilities.
EDIUS Pro version 4 is available now from Canopus and its authorized dealers and system integrators for $699. EDIUS Pro 3 users can upgrade for a special price of $199.
