Cine-tal, a leading developer in image processing, display and collaboration solutions, announces the eLumaHD visual display processor. eLumaHD delivers precision HD monitoring and color management in the digital workflow process for both production and post production environments. The open architecture system provides display device profiling, calibration and digital color processing for monitors and projector technologies including CRT, LCD, Plasma, DLP and D-ILA. eLumaHD provides four (4) Single Link HDSDI (4:2:2) inputs or two (2) Dual Link HDSDI (4:4:4)inputs. In addition to the HDSDI inputs there is a DVI-D input supporting 1920×1080 and 1920×1200 resolutions. Outputs include two (2) Single Link HDSDI (4:2:2) or one (1) Dual Link HDSDI (4:4:4). A DVI-D output supports resolutions of 1920×1080 or 1920 x1200. eLumaHD provides calibration and color management on professional displays that support HDSDI and industrial or consumer displays that support DVI-D or HDMI.
Display technology for Digital Intermediate (DI) and HD work flow is rapidly evolving for both production and post production. Myriads of new technology for acquisition, monitoring and processing provide differing requirements and results in color space, color gamut and human visual perception. These differing requirements create the need for an open architecture color processing system that can calibrate output devices, process color space conversions and manipulate color for purposes of workflow calibration, display system matching and color pre-visualization. Built on Cine-tal's award winning Intelligent Display Server (IDS™) technology, eLumaHD is the solution for open architecture color processing and management.
Calibration – eLumaHD provides display device profiling and dynamic calibration on two independent HDSDI outputs and a DVI-D output. The 10 bit precision calibration of each HDSDI and DVI-D output allow dynamic adjustments of white point, gamma, RGB gain, RGB bias and x,y CIE coordinates. The dynamic adjustments can be made on the full 10 bit scale, highs, mids and lows or any one of seventeen points. When using eLumaHD automated display profiling is supported through a GretagMacBeth EyeOne Display 2 for emissive display technology such as LCD, Plasma, CRT or DLP or the GretagMacBeth Eye One Design for any reflective display such as a projector. Display profiles can be created manually with eLuma's open format profiling and any measurement instrument providing x,y,Y CIE data.

Color Processing – eLuma supports a 65x65x65 3D LUT for color processing any of eLuma's 4-HDSDI inputs, DVI-D input, framestore or test pattern generator. 3D LUTs can be stored locally on eLuma, on network file servers or on a portable USB datakey. eLumaHD supports LUT formats from NuCoda, Arri, Iridas, Rising Sun Research, and Gamma Density. 1Dx3 input LUTs for each input source can be used for log to linear transformation such as the case with 10bit log image streams or to adjust gamma individually on each input source.

Framestore – A 30 frame real-time framestore provides image load and grab functions. Images can be stored and read in DPX, TIFF, JPG and BMP file formats.
Test Pattern Generator – The eLumaHD has an internal test pattern generator providing custom patterns for setup and testing of the display under profile and any other downstream process.

Range & Gamut Monitoring – eLuma provides dedicated monitoring of image data values. User defined alarms for gamut limits and illegal values can be set to produce visible error alarms as well as an error pixel count for each incident. Range and Gamut monitoring provide assurance that your data values are not exceeding display requirements or legal values for transmission.

Split Screen Viewing – eLumaHD provides a split screen function simultaneously displaying any two signal sources. Compare two sources for matching. Compare captured frames from previous sessions to current sources. You can also compare a colorgraded source to an original source. Split horizontal, vertical, reverse sources and control split location. Use the quad split to view four input sources at once.

Networked or Dedicated User Interface – eLuma is a network appliance. The user interface for setup and control of eLuma is available through any web browser. This provides control of eLuma from an existing workstation without the need of another dedicated keyboard or control panel. A dedicated user interface is also available through the use of a standard VGA monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Availability – The Cine-tal eLumaHD will begin shipping in the fourth quarter through Cine-tal's worldwide re-seller channel. Visit the Cine-tal website at www.cine-tal.com for local reseller information.
