Director/DP Erick Bergstrom of BT Films/Chicago steps up to answer Five Questions.
1. What are you working on today?

We are bidding on this job in Brazil, with parasailors in Mylar suits for a sunglass company, and the client is looking for a comedic twist.

2. What have you found is the best tool or innovation that has come out in the last year?

Well, that would have to be the last person born. Since I'm a performance director, I'm looking forward to working with her or him.

3. The project (film, television, commercial or music video) that most impressed you in the last year? Why?

Hustle and Flow was a surprise. The performances were outstanding. The characters had a depth of feeling that let you easily escape into their world. To top it off the soundtrack laid down a powerful heartbeat, even if you aren't isn't into Hip-Hop.

4. The best or favorite proejct that you worked on in the past year? And why?

We did a campaign for OnCor Entrees. The spots had a playful concept and interesting visuals. The client was great. The lead actor, Richard Kind (Spin City) is so funny – I think I broke a rib.
