50+ New Features; improved interoperability
With the latest release, Nucoda Film Master provides 50 new features in key areas, including:
Enhanced workflow:
• Brand new keyer with erode/dilate, de-speckle, and user-defined edge gradient (for glow/ halo effects) for greater control over keys
• Improved library, editorial tools and cache management speed the user workflow
• Background scanning and acquisition of media on hierarchical network file systems allow users to concentrate on creative tasks
• New DVO anti-alias filter and dramatically improved DVO Grain and DVO Dust performance
• Difference compare modes in viewer enhance and “revert to” function with “compare to revert” in viewer
Improved support for D-Cinema mastering:
• 2048 x 1080 dual link monitoring and full aperture 2k and 4k HSDL 4:4:4 i/o support for integration with film scanners, telecines and DDRs
• 12 bit DPX file import and export
Advanced video support with:
• Improved monitoring of interlaced and progressive video (both SD and HD) with 10 and 12 bit output and 720p support
• SMPTE video level management with toolset operating in native SMPTE levels
The addition of key support and enhancements in EDL import and open file architecture also makes this release more easily interoperable with third-party systems. Improved integration with Avid systems, Final Cut Pro, Smoke, and other post-production systems ensures customers’ investments in existing specialized equipment is protected, and workflows are highly efficient.
With Time-Based Licensing, production companies can match their licensing costs to their project income. Under the agreement, customers purchase the Digital Vision hardware, which starts with an entry-level SD box, and then license the DVNR software for the length of time required as dictated by the project schedule. Licenses are available in SD, HD and 2K formats ranging from one week up to a year.
Software licensing functionality includes:
– AGR4 ME ‘ Adaptive film grain and video noise reducer enhanced with Digital Vision’s motion estimation technology
– ASC3 ME ‘ Advanced dust, dirt and random scratch concealer with motion estimation
– ZOM ‘ Aspect ratio converter and pan & scan processor (SD and HD)
– ACP ‘ Colour correction processor (SD and HD)
Award winning post-production house The Farm, which is based in London, will be the first adopter of this new approach. The Farm offers facilities from high definition post-production for feature films and television, digital post-production for television, commercials, music promos and DVD encoding.
