Fujinon Debuts Two 18x HD Lenses For 1/2-Inch HD Cameras

Fujinon will introduce two new lenses designed for 1/2-inch HD cameras ‘ the HSs18x5.5BERM-D38 and HSs18x5.5BERD-D38 HD. Both lenses feature an 18 times zoom range and a wide angle of 5.5mm, making them ideal for production or news applications. The HSs18x5.5BERD-D38 features a servozoom and focus.

“Many of our customers have asked for a lens with a 2X extender for both corporate and broadcast applications,” said Dave Waddell, Marketing Manager, Fujinon. “We designed these lenses specifically for the higher end applications.”

With a focal length range of 5.5 to 100mm (11-200 with 2X) and a wide angle of view (64 degrees at 5.5mm), the new lenses provide crisp, clear pictures under all operating conditions. Designed to enhance the performance of the newest ∏-inch ENG-style cameras, they feature an 18x zoom ratio, a maximum relative aperture of 1.8 at 100mm, and a M.O.D. of 0.6m from the front of the lens. Users have the option of adding Fujinon lens controllers and wide angle or telephoto adapters. Both lenses come complete with Fujinon’s Inner Focus technology to minimize lens breathing and feature Fujinon’s exclusive “GO” Technology to minimize chromatic aberration and improve contrast and edge sharpness.

The addition of these new products expands Fujinon’s lineup of 1/2-inch HD lenses to eight. These include: the wide angle XS13X3.3BRM and HSs16X4.6BERM, the economically priced XS17X5.5BRM, the HSs18X5.5BRM and HSs18X5.5BRD high end ENG-style lenses without extender, and the HSs18X5.5BMD lens for remote control and teleconferencing applications.
