Digital data-recording specialist S.two has introduced a new docking station, i.DOCK, which can serve as a source deck to speed up offline editing and facilitate the fast review of digital dailies.
The i.DOCK offers a real-time solution for ingesting both audio and video using the company's D.MAG hard drive, which stores video as uncompressed data. The i.DOCK mounts the D.MAG magazines and plays out in real time at any HD or SD resolution, with audio and timecode, analog or digital. The unit also features virtual pre and post rolls for edit systems that can't handle timecode breaks so that ingest to offline is smooth and fast.
For Final Cut Pro users the i.DOCK exports an XML edit file, including all metadata and handles, for one-touch auto batch capture that can include file names, time codes, audio, set, take and scene notes.
