New Film is Coming-of-Age Story Balls

Saville Productions has signed renowned filmmaker and photographer Douglas Keeve for exclusive representation in the North American market.
Keeve is known for his critically acclaimed documentaries focusing on the fashion industry such as Unzipped and Seamless, as well as commercial campaigns for Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Armani, L’Oreal and Revlon.

“I have known Douglas for a long time and really admire him as a filmmaker so it is great to have him on board and formally represent him,” says Saville’s Executive Producer, Johnny Doran. “Douglas not only has a great eye but also a wonderful ability of putting talent at ease and ensuring great performances.”

The spectacle of obsessive dedication, sophistication and brattiness that ‘is’ the fashion industry, is uniquely captured in Keeve’s documentary, Unzipped. The critically acclaimed film went on to win the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and enjoy unprecedented box office success domestically and overseas. Vanity Fair Magazine said “Until now, no documentary has been able to do more than remind us of fashions transient import and the more annoying qualities of it’s practitioners. But the surprise of Unzipped arrives when you realize you’re actually watching a very funny, slightly bent film."

Keeve’s feature, Seamless, a collaboration with Vogue debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2005, and reveals the thrilling and often heartbreaking stories of three of the hottest set of emerging fashion designers as they create the designs of American fashion, struggle to stay financially afloat, and vie for recognition in this very competitive, and often cutthroat arena. Tough-minded Variety magazine called the film “Impressive! A thoughtful and fascinating film.”

Keeve’s VH1 documentary film Naomi Conquers Africa chronicles supermodel Naomi Campbell and friends includes an intimate visit by Naomi with then President Mandela.

Keeve’s photographic work has appeared in GQ, Italian Vogue, Esquire, Glamour, American Vogue and Interview magazine.

Among Keeve’s current projects are a new documentary on the historically vibrant Gramercy Park Hotel and his new film, Balls. This fictional feature is a coming of age story about a male model. It is shot in the compelling style of Keeve’s cinematic and intoxicating documentary work. The film promises a front row glimpse into the underbelly of a glamorous world fraught with drugs, drama and sexy fun.
