New software release adds DVI and Standard Definition inputs: Now supporting 3D LUTs from Quantel iQ, Discreet Flame, Assimilate Scratch Kodak CMS, and FilmLight: Software Development Kit (SDK) provides extensible platform for custom software applications

Cine-tal, a leading developer in image processing, display and collaboration solutions, announced the release of version 2.1 software for the Cinemage intelligent display server. Cinemage 2.1 provides a host of new features and a software developer’s kit. An important new feature is the DVI input. With the DVI input Cinemage provides a calibrated desktop monitor and an HDSDI/SDI reference monitor integrated into a single package. Cinemage version 2.1 adds compatibility with standard definition video formats. Both standard definition and 720p video formats may be viewed pixel to pixel or scaled to full screen for optimum viewing accuracy.
Extensible Architecture
The Software Development Kit provides access to the Cinemage extensible architecture. With the SOAP based SDK software developers can integrate Cinemage features into software applications. Facilities can easily create custom applications to fit their specific work flow. “With the release of the software developers toolkit Cinemage is now setting the pace in intelligent precision monitoring” Said Peter Polit V.P. Engineering for Cine-tal. “No other system on the market combines precision monitoring, color processing tools and network integration”. Software developers may contact Cine-tal Technical Support ia e-mail at support@cine-tal.com to learn more about the SDK.

Extensive Color Processing Support
A key feature in Cinemage 2.1 is the expanded support for 3D Look Up Tables generated by third party software applications. The 2.1 release adds LUT support for; Quantel iQ, Discreet Flame, Assimilate Scratch, and non-encrypted LUTs from Kodak CMS and FilmLight. Cinemage also supports LUTs from Iridas, Pandora, Arri, Gamma & Density and Digital Vision.

Cinemage on set
On the set of The Tourist, starring Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor, DIT Rick Nagle used the Cinemage at the center of his workflow. “The display’s stunningly accurate picture ensured a perfect match for the color-timing of our dailies”, said Rick. “These days it’s not unusual for a producer, DP, or client to expect that all of the features found in a telecine suite be available in the on-set viewing environment. With the Cinemage in front of me, I can easily deliver as much, if not more, than is available in the post environment. In the world of HD monitoring, nothing else compares to the Cinemage.”
