Rising Sun Research released cineSpace 2.5, the latest version of its color-management system, offering improvements in digital projector calibration, greater flexibility when profiling broadcast displays, and new black-point correction algorithms to ensure that subtle shadow detail is preserved on LCD monitors. cineSpace 2.5 now offers support for Nucoda Film Master and da Vinci's Resolve. Also, each component of the cineSpace suite can now be purchased separately.
FilmLight announced the relocation and expansion of its North American Headquarters in Los Angeles. Extension 1 for the Autodesk Lustre 2007 digital color-grading system is now available exclusively to Lustre subscription customers. Lustre 2007 extracts greater performance from the graphical processing unit (GPU) on Windows systems, and colorists can work in parallel with Autodesk Flame and Autodesk Smoke users. Autodesk Lustre 2007 Extension 1 is available for download free of charge to Autodesk Lustre customers with valid subscription contracts.
Fame Post-Production in Thailand is now using BrightDrive to implement a data-centric post-production environment that enables different DI teams to share media over a range of systems. In the Philippines, VFX/post facility Larger Than Life is using BrightDrive in its new DI facility in Manila.
Sylicone, a post-production facility in Paris, France, has integrated a da Vinci 2K Plus color enhancement system into its new DI theater. Sylicone will continue using its 2K Plus for real-time SD and HD color grading of television shows, documentaries, and commercial projects.
