STEP 1: Create a CustomFlix account
Go to www.customflix.com and click Create New Account at the top of the page to start the self-guided process. Your CustomFlix member account lets you manage all aspects of your account, from adding a new title to viewing your existing account information.
STEP 2: Create your title listing
First, sign on to your member account. Next, click Add New Title and follow the instructions on the page. You will be asked to provide a description of your title as well as other basic information. If you request special services (available for an extra fee), such as authoring, you will be prompted to set that up at this time.
STEP 3: Upload your artwork (or get us to create some)
If you already have artwork for your DVD or CD, simply upload this artwork to our database using your member account. DVD artwork includes the cover of the DVD case, the DVD disc face and the DVD menu. CD artwork includes the two-sided tray card, the CD disc face and a four-page cover booklet. You can change your artwork at any time.
If you need artwork created for you, CustomFlix’s graphic designers are available to help (contact a CustomFlix representative or visit the CustomFlix site for more info).
STEP 4: Send us a copy of your master
Before you send your materials, make sure to label all contents with your Title ID before sending them to CustomFlix. This is a six-digit number assigned to you by our system during the title setup process. You should send your materials using a traceable shipping method, such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL, to the CustomFlix Corporate Headquarters. Once we’ve received your materials, you’ll be notified by e-mail.
STEP 5: Approve your proof
After we receive your disc and your title information has been completed in your member account, we will send you a proof copy to ensure you’re satisfied with the final product before your CustomFlix E-Store and/or Amazon.com Retail Page goes live. This proof is exactly what your customers will receive, so be sure to examine it carefully. Once you’ve received and reviewed your proof, log on to your member account to approve it.
STEP 6: Sell on CustomFlix and/or Amazon.com
Your title’s E-Store is hosted on www.CustomFlix.com , but it can be customized to align with the look and feel of your own Web site to give your customers a more seamless shopping experience. Many CustomFlix members focus on driving customer traffic to their E-Store. By selling your title on Amazon.com , you can gain access to tens of millions of customers. Through our Amazon.com Retail program, your title will be listed just like any other DVD or CD, and can be found through the Amazon.com ‘s Browse, Search and Recommendations features.
STEP 7: Receive royalties!
At the end of each month, you’ll receive royalties for titles sold through your CustomFlix E-Store and/or your Amazon.com Retail page. CustomFlix keeps a small fee for each unit sold. This fee decreases the more units you sell. Amazon.com uses a revenue share percentage to determine royalties. For more information about unit fees and revenue share, view the price list on the CustomFlix Web site.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University and drives the CustomFlix technical vision while spearheading technology partnerships and platform architecture. In February of 2002, Darren Giles, along with his brother Dana and colleague Dr. Clint Staley, founded CustomFlix with one goal in mind- to connect filmmakers, musicians and content owners to a worldwide audience.
CustomFlix is the second successful entrepreneurial venture for brothers Darren and Dana. In 1995, they co-founded Terran Interactive, Inc., the original creator of the award-winning video encoding tool Media Cleaner Pro that was successfully acquired by Media 100, Inc. in 1999, and then subsequently by Autodesk, Inc., in 2001.
Darren Says Keep in Mind…
Let’s face it: it’s a big world out there, and if you’re a filmmaker, musician or content owner looking to distribute your film, video or music to a worldwide audience, the Web is one the most cost-effective places to market your wares. But managing inventory, shipping and marketing can mushroom into a full-time job, one very few content creators have extra time for. CustomFlix, now an Amazon.com company, connects filmmakers to millions of Amazon.com customers through CustomFlix DVD and CD on Demand. CustomFlix manufactures and ships DVDs and CDs only when they are ordered, making it easy to fulfill orders of any quantity and keep your title "in stock" at all times. Soon, you’ll also be able to make your titles available to those same customers via digital download.
