Release Adds Bi-Directional File Transfer of IMX 30/40/50 Media Files Between Sony XDCAM Professional Devices and Final Cut Pro Editing Systems

Telestream, the provider of award-winning Flip4Mac digital media tools for Macintosh users, today announced availability of Version 2.1 software for its Flip4Mac XDCAM Component. Until now, the component enabled editors to ingest IMX, DV and HDV content directly from Sony's XDCAM Professional Disc production system into Apple's Final Cut Pro 5 application for editing. Version 2.1 software adds the ability to also export IMX 30/40/50 media across the entire XDCAM family.
Flip4Mac XDCAM Component expands Final Cut Pro workflows to enable greater functionality for video professionals using Sony's XDCAM system. The ability to access file-based XDCAM content either as low-res proxy or at full bandwidth, in SD or HD formats, and move MXF media between Apple's Final Cut Pro real-time editing software and XDCAM devices greatly enhances the user's workflow options.

"This enhancement represents an important step forward in rounding out our XDCAM-compatible solutions for Final Cut Pro users," said Barbara DeHart, VP Flip4Mac Products. "We are pleased to expand Flip4Mac capabilities to provide import and export of MXF media, enabling greater workflow efficiency for Sony XDCAM users as well as our Apple Final Cut Pro customers."

Flip4Mac XDCAM Component Version 2.1 and all other Flip4Mac products are being demonstrated in Telestream Booth SL-9214 at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention April 16-19 in Las Vegas. To learn more, download, or purchase Flip4Mac components, visit http://www.flip4mac.com.
