Avid throws a good party. The Sunday night customer event at the Hard Rock is one of the better events of NAB week. At 6:00 PM EDT tonight I received my invite for the April 15 gala. At 7:25 PM EDT I registered for the event. At 7:26 PM EDT I tried to register for a colleague and was alerted that the event was Full. Either a lot of tickets were previously allotted for big customers or David Krall is a bigger draw than Wayne Newton. I suspect the former, but the latter would make one hell of a press release.
Who knows, maybe Steve Jobs will feel compelled to announce Final Cut Pro 6 in person.
