Euphonix Offers a Mixing console for HD production

Euphonix, a manufacturer of large-format audio mixing consoles, is introducing its S5 Fusion for high-definition television audio post at NAB (booth N4021).
The S5 Fusion is a professional mixing package that combines a new digital signal processing SuperCore engine with EuCon Hybrid, an application based on Euphonix’s universal control protocol. The company said the combination enables the S5 Fusion console surface to simultaneously control its own DSP channels as well as channels from multiple external digital audio workstations (DAWs) over high-speed Ethernet.

With film-style surround-sound monitoring features, the S5 Fusion addresses the demand for a single, cost-effective audio-mixing console that manages a large number of tracks with the quality and reliability of dedicated DSP channels. It also offers machine control, an audio router, and the ability to control multiple DAWs.

EuCon Hybrid, incorporating the Ethernet protocol, extends the control capabilities of the console beyond the dedicated DSP SuperCore to bring Macintosh and PC DAW tracks onto the console surface for mixing. Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro, and Digital Performer workstations can also be fully controlled from the console surface.
