So, it was an exciting morning at the huge press conference in Las Vegas, for Apple’s release of Final Cut Studio 2 and Final Cut Server. Roars of applause came to my eardrums as the company unvieled upgrades, new toolsets, and an ALL NEW color correction program called, simply enough; “COLOR”. The program is very sophisticated, yet appears to be easy to use and should allow users to get unbeatable color correcting, and creative “look” results. Best of all, it comes FREE with the new Studio 2 program set, which, by the way sees no real increase in pricing, and has very affordable upgrades for previous Final Cut users. $499 for Final Cut Studio owners and $699 for any other previous Final Cut version! The whole shebang is only $1299.
I won’t go into any details about the softwares themselves, as those details will undoubtedly follow in user reviews, the press release from Apple themselves ( http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2007/04/15fcstudio.html ), and from future blogs from the NAB show floor, but suffice to say the announcements were very well recieved, and the demos by the Apple pros and a few key users were impressive!
More to come….
