Revolutionary Mirage HD Series Sets New Standards in Stereo Projection for Advanced Visualization

Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for entertainment, business and industry, announced a dramatic leap for 3D stereoscopic projection with the introduction of the new Christie Mirage HD Series projectors. Offering the world‚s first native 1920 x 1080 HD resolution 3-Chip DLP projectors with active stereo capability; the Christie Mirage HD series delivers 41% more resolution than previous 3D projection technology. Combined with a revolutionary new platform that utilizes bandwidth more effectively than any stereo projector in history, the Christie Mirage HD projectors can power images at 120Hz, flicker free, from a standard workstation computer. This versatility, coupled with a wider field of view, offers a new level of realism and comfort in stereoscopic viewing. With the most installed stereo projectors in the world, Christie has further expanded the realm of 3D imaging possibilities in theme park entertainment, health science and education, and environments such CAVEs, visualization walls and conference rooms of any size.
The new Christie Mirage HD Series consists of four models: the Mirage HD3 at 2,800 ANSI lumens; the Mirage HD6 at 6,000 ANSI lumens; the Mirage HD8 at 8,000 ANSI lumens; and the Mirage HD18 with up to 17,500 ANSI lumens. Each projector offers native 1080p resolution for a wider field of view and active stereo capability. For solutions ranging from cost-efficient single projector systems up to high-end, multi-projector arrays, the Mirage HD series offers the widest range of brightness levels, contrast and uniformity. They set up quickly and easily and can be powered by virtually any computer graphic card to produce full, true HD stereo images.

With the addition of the Mirage HD series to Christie‚s existing line of Mirage SXGA+ resolution (1400 x 1050) projectors the Mirage S+3K, Mirage S+6K, Mirage S+8K and Mirage S+14K Christie offers the most expansive line of stereo projectors available. Accessories include ChristieTWIST˙ image warping and edge-blending module, input modules for dual SD/HD-SDI, DVI and legacy interface modules, and HD lenses for any configuration or application.

"This is a true technological leap for the advanced visualization market. This new simple-to-setup 3D solution no longer requires massive amounts of power from the graphics card to generate each different viewpoint," notes Larry Paul, senior director, solutions & product management, Visual Environments, Christie USA. "The Mirage HD Series eliminates the need for super bandwidth DVI or analog infrastructure and brings the highest HD resolution and professional standards in stereoscopic viewing to the mainstream."

As the first company to introduce DLP stereoscopic projection, Christie continues to build on its tradition of delivering leading-edge technologies to meet the sophisticated needs of the advanced visualization markets. Today, with the introduction of the first HD projection solution for 3D, Christie has yet again opened the door to an exciting world of visual communication possibilities.
