Up and coming is Sony’s latest entry-level HDV camera, the HVR-HD1000U, a shoulder-mounted camera with both SD and HDV capture capabilites. Aimed more clearly at event videographers, the HVR-HD1000U features a 1/2.9″ ClearVid CMOS, 10x optical zoom, Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization, and an LCD positioned for easy viewing while shoulder-mounted.
While clearly not the most powerful or impressive of cameras in Sony’s professional lineup, the HVR-HD100U rings in at under $1,900 and is set for a December release. Check out Sony’s press release for more complete specifications.
