Adobe recently announced the latest version of its web video software, Adobe Flash Player 9, codenamed “Moviestar”, which now touts H.264 video support among other exciting new enhancements. With an expected improvement in video quality, Flasy Player 9 also includes High Efficiency AAC (HE-AAC) audio support and “hardware accelerated, multi-core enhanced full screen video playback”.
In short, expect drastic improvements in Flash video quality as this upgrade takes hold, with an expected release date sometime this fall. The beta is currently available at Adobe Labs.
