Useful tools for editors: Elgato Turbo.264

A while back Brian here at the Studio Daily blogs mentioned the Elgato Turbo.264. I’ve never included it under the Useful tools for editors banner as I haven’t had any person experience with it. The other day I walked into my local closing CompUSA and they had 6 of them on the shelf. At 15% off of the usual $100 price tag I snapped it up. Over at the Editblog I’ve done a little write up on it as well as some speed comparisons. After using it for some encoding I can defienitely say that it is a useful tool for an editor. So if you have to do H.264 encodes for clients or for yourself to get media on to your iPod or iPhone then this little tools is great to have. And even better at a 15% off. Hopefully your CompUSA still has some left.
