If you ever have the need to remove Apple’s Final Cut Studio then you can get ready to dig all around your system and trash a lot of stuff. Or you can just grab this little tool from the folks at Digital Rebellion called (and quite appropriately) FCS Remover. Why would you ever want to remove Final Cut Studio? Well when the day arrives that you are so fed up with Compressor that you move to the Adobe Creative Suite that would be one! Or maybe you just want to reinstall after some of the FCS apps begin to behave strangly. Whatever the reason FCS Remover might just be able to lead a helping hand.
From the Digital Rebellion web site:
What’s new in this version (1.0.2)
What it removes
It also removes preference files, installer receipts, codecs and support folders.
What it doesn’t remove
Besides FCS Remover, Digital Rebellion has a lot of great tools available including a footage calculator, aspect ratio calculator, depth of field calculator, pixel aspect ratio calculator, and a film rate calculator. These are all online tools but the best thing about them is they also have iPhone friendly mobile versions as well. I’ve put the footage calc on the front page of my iPhone.
Oh and there’s also a great blog from John Chappell. There’s so much good stuff over there that I’m gonna give ’em some link love with their own logo!
