Capture from HDV to ProRes in Final Cut Pro

Ken Stone has a handy tutorial up for capturing from HDV via FireWire to ProRes in Final Cut Pro. As you may already know, ProRes is Apple’s newer HD codec touting 10-bit sample depth, and 4:2:2 chroma sampling.

The tutorial begins with a list of pros and cons for converting to ProRes, and then goes into extensive detail for effectively converting your HDV footage via video settings adjustments. Check out part one on Ken Stone’s site here.
