Music and sound design company BWN is excited to announce that it has expanded its Los Angeles offerings with the addition of sister company Outlaw. BWN has acquired Outlaw, a full service audio post facility with a successful 25 year-history, from retiring company owner Allan Roth.

“When considering selling the company I had hoped to find a buyer that would take Outlaw Sound to its next level of success. I feel that BWN is the company that can do that,” says Roth.

“Outlaw’s recording facility is the perfect complement to BWN’s creative music and sound offerings. It adds a distinct audio service brand to our fold, helping BWN’s LA office to more clearly focus on content production” explains BWN Co-Founder Carl White. “The Outlaw brand will remain, now with a new face.”

BWN has hired Steve Pierson, who brings significant post experience to his management Outlaw. Pierson is a composer, producer and recording artist who has contributed his talents to feature films, episodic television and commercials.

“I met Steve through a mutual friend about three years ago who described Steve as a great guy,” recalls BWN Co-Founder Ken Brahmstedt. Well, Steve and I stayed in touch over the years, and after sharing many audio files and demos of his work, it turned out he wasn’t just a great guy, he was a talented guy! We are very pleased to have him on our team.”

A Hollywood institution, Outlaw has recorded such powerhouse talent as Charlton Heston, Mae West, George Burns, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Cary Grant, Charlie Sheen, Gary Owens, Orson Welles, James Garner, Dick Van Dyke, Patrick Stewart, Penelope Cruz, Cid Caesar, and Vincent Price. Advertising clients include Carmichael Lynch, Campbell Mithun, Crispin Porter & Bogusky, DDB, JWT and McCann-Erickson. Other clients include BBC, Sundance Channel, GMBH, Virgin and Sony.
