Users Have 90 Days to Evaluate OmniEdit FE

Xorbit is offering a free introductory version of the company’s OmniEdit closed-caption development system. Called OmniEdit FE, the software is designed to acquaint new users with the full capabilities of OmniEdit, a comprehensive system for creating, editing, and maintaining closed captions, V-chip data, program information, and other broadcast content.
OmniEdit simplifies captioning of video content via a suite of built-in transcription tools and broad caption and video file import support. As a fully EIA-compliant captioning system, OmniEdit saves time by enabling captioning staff to simply click and type captions directly onto the video content.

A built-in transcription feature provides one-click publishing to captions, while edits are made with tools such as time code rippling, cut/paste, undo, and EDL compression. OmniEdit’s exclusive WordCheck does for forbidden language what the integrated SpellCheck does for misspellings, helping the broadcaster reduce exposure to FCC violations and fines.

In addition, OmniEdit supports video bookmarks for quick peer review and simplified file translation with native support for major file formats, such as Cheetah, CCS, NCI, WGBH, Vitac, RapidText, and many others.

OmniEdit FE provides the full complement of OmniEdit’s caption creation, editing, and distribution tools for 90 days. After that period, OmniEdit FE users will be able to transfer the captioned content to other products in Xorbit’s closed caption product family. In order to save captioned video to another storage or distribution device or to videotape, users will be able to purchase a license key to activate the fully licensed version of OmniEdit.
