Bicoastal 89 Edit is pleased to welcome award-winning Editor Susan Munro to their Los Angeles team. Prior to joining 89, Munro spent several years at Red Car/LA. Susan's work ranges from national to multicultural campaigns, music videos, short films and documentary projects, although her true passion lies in commercial editorial.
Susan has cut commercial campaigns for established brands such as AT&T, Pepsi, Kraft, State Farm, Honda, Cellular One, Qwest, Citibank, Chevrolet, Union Bank, Coors Light, and Nissan to name a few. “I’m so ecstatic Susan has joined our roster,” stated 89’s LA-based EP Gail Butler. “She is a truly gifted talent capable of compelling storytelling, be it a :30, :60 or feature length documentary. If it’s film, and a message needs to be conveyed, she reigns in every precious moment with skill and grace. In addition to being an award winning creative editor she contributes much in regards to music, sound design and supervising the VFX and finishing of her projects.”

Susan’s most recent and proudest editorial effort is the heartwarming feature length documentary titled, A Place to Live. In this film, Munro cuts footage of several elderly gay and lesbian individuals showcasing their compelling struggles with the United States housing crisis. The film was honored with the Outstanding Documentary Feature – Audience Award at Outfest 2008, as well as with the Top Pick to See at Outfest by LA Weekly. Her experience with film spans short form as well, a prior project, Tell Me Who Ruby Was won Best Short Film at the Sonoma Film Festival.

“It’s a great privilege to join the 89 Edit team and reunite with my good friend and colleague Gail Butler,” noted Munro. “I am excited to be part of such a creative and collaborative environment that 89 has created.”
