Broadway Video has hired editor Liz Burton as part of its on-going effort to grow its creative resources for broadcast clients. Burton, who will work out of an editorial suite equipped with an Avid Adrenaline system, has lengthy experience in editing broadcast promos, interstitials and other media for clients including Nickelodeon and MTV.
“Liz is confident, self-sufficient and cooperative-the key characteristics of the ideal editor,” said Broadway Video Senior Editor Dave Finamore. “Her ability to tell a story and keen visual sense make her a perfect fit at Broadway.”

Burton will team with sound designers and mixers from Broadway Sound to provide broadcast clients with a complete solution for on-air media production. In her first project for Broadway Video, Burton cut a marketing video for Nickelodeon for use at this year’s MIPCOM conference in Cannes. Her other recent projects include Caroling Countdowns for the Nickelodeon special Merry Christmas Josh and Drake and promos for Nickelodeon’s Pick Boy’s Election Day Pick Off. She is also working as a FinalCut Pro editor on an ongoing project for AMC.

Burton arrives from boutique post house Editional Effects (EENYC). She joined that company as a graphics and Avid assistant in 2002 and was promoted to editor a year later. She has cut numerous promotional projects for Nickelodeon and its programming blocks, TEENick and Nick at Nite. Among the highlights was a spot for TeeNick featuring actor Tom Cruise and tied to the release of the film Mission: Impossible III. She also helped to edit Nickelodeon Takes Over the Super Bowl, a 1-hour special that aired on CBS. She is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Burton said that she sees in Broadway Video an opportunity to expand her creative horizons. “Broadway Video’s long list of clients provides a great opportunity for me to work with a wide range of talent,” she said. “I believe that the ability to collaborate with producers from different network backgrounds will strengthen my editing skills.”
