Final Cut is pleased to announce that Stà©phane Dumonceau is joining the company. Dumonceau will be based in the New York office working with an esteemed roster, which includes Carlos Arias, Alex Hagon, Sarah Iben, Akiko Iwakawa, JD Smyth, Jeff Stevens, Ashley Kreamer and Michael Dart Wadsworth, as well as Composer/Sound Designer Terressa Tate.
Dumonceau is joining Final Cut after taking a two-year sabbatical to work on a feature film, write and travel. The siren call of advertising didn’t fully disappear during this time, as he worked on a handful of advertising projects for Wieden+Kennedy, TAXI and Droga 5.

Dumonceau is an award-winning editor in commercials, music videos and films. He worked at Mad River Post as a Senior Editor and Sound Designer prior to his leave. His list of collaborators reads like a veritable Who’s Who from the agency and production worlds. Dumonceau partnered with top agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, and Crispin, Porter and Bogusky, and collaborated with such directors as Mark Romanek, Errol Morris, Stacy Wall, Spike Lee, David Gordon Green, Wes Anderson, Christopher Guest, Pat Sherman and Gerard de Thame. He has worked on campaigns for ESPN, Nike, Levis, Fox Sports and MTV.

Dumonceau has been recognized for his work including an AICP Award for Best Editing, and AICE Awards for Best Editing in Sound & Music Category, and Best Editing in the Spec Category.

“Stà©phane has the unique ability to work on dramatic and visual content, as well as comedy,” says Stephanie Apt, President of Final Cut. “He knows how to find the rhythm and sentiment of a film, and with his extraordinary sound design skill, each project is a finely crafted story.”

“I’ve long been an admirer of Stà©phane, both as a compelling personality and as an editor,” concludes Rana Martin, Executive Producer of the New York office. “I am looking forward to his presence in the NY office, as he brings wit, style and a distinctive point of view to everything he does. We’re thrilled to have him join us.”
