Marshall Electronics introduced a new series of seven-inch portable field monitors, each weighing 1.3 pounds: the V-LCD70P-HDA with composite and component inputs (now shipping, $999); the V-LCD70P-HDMI with composite, component and HDMI inputs (due in March, $1099); and the V-LCD70P-3GSDI with composite, component and 3G SD/HD inputs (March, $1299). All three feature 1.2-million-pixel TFT LCD screens with 10-bit signal processing, a four-pin XLR power jack, and polycarbonate screen protection as well as Marhsll’s new False Color and Peaking filters. The units can adapt up to nine different battery configurations for field operation.

Ross Video introduced the SoftMetal 3000 and 4000 series of 3RU video servers. Available in standard or “multi-definition” versions, the 3000 series provides up to 14 TB of storage on SATA drives and supports up to eight simultaneous SD and up to four simultaneous HD channels. The 4000 series provides up to 6.3 TB of storage using SAS drives and supports up to eight simultaneous HD channels – 1080p50 and 1080p60 at 3 Gb/sec. Shipments are slated to begin in March.
