Creative Companies Are First Of Their Kind To Join EPA-Qualified Green Power List & Pledge Support Of Sustainable Technologies
“America is shifting to a ‘green culture,’ with more and more businesses taking important steps to combat climate change,” said Kathleen Hogan, Director of the Climate Protection Partnerships Division at the EPA. “EPA commends Company X, Sugarbox and Shout It Out Loud Music for making a long-term commitment to protecting the environment by purchasing green power.”
According to the U.S. EPA, Company X, Sugarbox and SIOLM’s green power purchase of more than 120,000 (kWh) is equivalent to avoiding the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of 16 passenger vehicles per year, or is the equivalent amount of electricity needed to power 11 average American homes annually.
This commitment to green energy purchases is also done in tandem with energy conservation efforts by company employees, such as recycling, using energy-efficient light bulbs and turning off machines when not in use.
“Company X, Sugarbox & Shout It Out Loud Music are essentially paying to pull additional green energy into our national electrical grid, thereby displacing dirty energy generated from fossil fuels,” concludes Gary Fogelman, Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy at Good Energy. “They are now fully green in their power supply. The added benefit is that they are also saving a substantial amount on their energy costs. It’s a total win-win for the companies.”
