Ascent Media’s Filmcore Editorial welcomes Michael Elliot and Lucas Eskin, two of the most respected names in commercial editing. Along with Elliot and Eskin, editors Stewart Shevin and Richard Smith will join Filmcore’s staff, further strengthening Ascent Media’s prestigious editorial talent base.
For more than two decades Elliot and Eskin led Mad River Post, one of the most lauded commercial editorial facilities.

“As we move to further align our businesses in pursuit of our strategic objective to become the world’s leading supplier of digital media services, the addition of best-in-breed talent will expand the reach and scope of our services and Ascent Media’s position in the market,” said Jose Royo, CEO of Ascent Media.

“This is a different kind of alliance-I have known Michael and Lucas my entire career; we share a mutual respect and passion for this business,” said Filmcore Senior Editor Doug Walker.

Executive Producer Jon Ettinger continued, “The pieces fit together really well. We have great communication and great ideas. Having Ascent’s support allows us to focus on what we do best. We’ve put a stellar team in place and I believe our people and our technology will make us stand out above the rest. In other words, it’s just the beginning.”

“Part of what attracted us to Filmcore is its business model,” stated Elliot. “Having editing studios in the country’s four largest advertising markets, partners across the globe and vertical integration with other Ascent businesses addresses a real client need for end-to-end post production solutions,” said Eskin.

Elliot was a founder of Mad River Post and helped to build it into a premier editing house. He has worked with virtually every major ad agency in the United States and Europe, and won numerous awards, including MOMA, Cannes and Clio awards.

Eskin has edited several award winning campaigns for Microsoft, Coca-Cola, ESPN, GM, Nike, and is currently working on a major campaign in its third year.

Shevin and Smith have share commercial credits for Ford Motor Company; Shevin has also worked on campaigns for Toyota and Smith’s credits include work for such diverse advertisers as Spike TV, White Castle and Alltel.
