Renowned editor Jim Rubino has joined the editorial staff at Fluid (New York) it was announced today by Managing Partner/Executive Producer Marc Schwartz.
Jim Rubino joins Fluid with a wealth of experience, having worked at Chemistry (NY), Madhouse (NY) and Bender (NY). Among the many agencies he’s worked with are Saatchi, ML Rogers, Ogilvy, Y&R, McCann, and Grey, and on spots for Maybelline, Speed Stick, eTrade, Olay and Fidelity. He has also edited two feature films – “LBS”, a Sundance Film Festival entry and “Slingshot” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Throughout his career, Rubino has been known as an editor with a passion for storytelling. “Whether it’s a visual montage or a dialogue-driven spot, I enjoy the challenge of telling a short story and developing characters in thirty seconds,” he explained. Editing has always been more than a career, and for him it’s about the relationships he has formed because of it. “I like the process of creating with others. We have a common goal to make whatever we’re doing together the best that it can be. There are so many components that go into the finished product, music, color, sound design, and as editors we get the chance to help shape a vision,” he continued.

Jim Rubino is excited to be a part of the Fluid team. “The editors here are fantastic and have done some terrific work. It’s amazing how much support they give their talent, and the rapport that everyone has,” he added.

Jim Rubino joins the editorial division of FLUID, which includes: Editors Greg Letson, Scott Philbrook, John Mallerman, Robin Burchill and Karama Brown; Visual Effects Artist and Supervisor Wes Waldron; Assistant Editors Peter Sabatino, Michael Equi, Zeke O’Donnell, Michael Sullivan and Heather Danosky; Managing Partner/Executive Producer Marc Schwartz; and Editorial Producer Leanne Diamond, all of whom are represented in-house by Jessica Millington, Kristen Bedard and Lori Youmans.
