creative editorial storytelling and motion picture design that can work as
content across any screen,” said Julia Sonder-Patchin, Executive Producer,
Phoenix Editorial. “Our creative directors offer such an amazing array of
skill and history that we can offer creative development that other
companies just aren’t able to offer under one roof.”
“We opened our doors in 1991, so we’ve seen first-hand the ebb and flow of
our business, particularly in hard-hit San Francisco. Given today’s
economic climate, it’s more crucial than ever for us to be flexible to the
changing demands of our industry,” added Lisa Hinman, president, Phoenix
Editorial. “Bonfire allows us to reach out to existing and new clients with
a fresh take on what our industry needs, because the market for clear
marketing messages and good storytelling hasn’t changed, but the media
opportunities have.”
narratives for any medium – from TV to feature film, and high-definition
LED screens to mobile devices. Sonder-Patchin will oversee Bonfire as
executive producer, with Matt Silverman and renowned editor and storyteller
Bob Frisk taking the reigns as co-creative directors.
Recent work out of the newly formed company includes content for two
interactive feature film websites in collaboration with San Francisco
company 4th Wall Studios, and content shown on a one-square block LED light
display in New York City’s Times Square. Bonfire also just produced
animation for the hit HBO series “True Blood” and has completed work for
Microsoft, Adobe and other Silicon Valley clients.
Bonfire launches with 18-year industry veteran Julia Sonder-Patchin at the
helm, who has been elevated to the role of executive producer of both
Phoenix Editorial and Bonfire. Sonder-Patchin will spearhead new business
development and oversee day-to-day operations. Prior to Phoenix, she ran
consulting and production company Desmo Creative and was an executive
producer at Rough House Editorial and OneSixEight Design Group. She has
also worked at DeepBlueSea and Broadcast Video (now Manhattan Transfer) in
Miami, FL.
This is the second incarnation of Bonfire, with Phoenix Editorial first
launching the company in 2002 before eventually folding it into Phoenix
Editorial. The new shop will share space with the Phoenix Editorial team at
190 Pacific Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94111. For more information about
