A native Australian, Ferstl moved to Los Angeles in 1994. Since arriving he has shown his diversified skills making his mark in the commercial, feature film and television markets. His feature credits include “House of Flying Daggers,” “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Underworld Evolution,” which won Siggy the Master Colorist of the Year award for the second year running.
For Siggy, moving to Company 3 allows him the opportunity to offer all of his clients a more flexible and creative workflow including nonlinear DI. He also enjoys being part of a growing, award-winning, talent-driven team and looks forward to continuing to work on diverse projects.
“So much innovative and exciting work comes through Company 3,” comments Ferstl. “The different projects I’m working on keep me fresh and enable me to maintain an edge, which is important.”
Prior to CO3, Siggy worked at CO3 sister facility, Method. Siggy also served as Director of Telecine and Film Services at Digital Pictures in Sydney and had similar roles in London and Asia. He helped da Vinci develop its nonlinear color corrector, “Resolve,” and served as a guest colorist at IBC and NAB. He was also an early adopter of the commercial DI nonlinear workflow.
