Though “E” has had many meanings in product naming over the past few years, it can only stand for one thing today: economy, stupid. Panasonic launched a new economical line of P2 cards at NAB, the E Series, with 16GB, 32GB and, coming later this summer, 64GB storage capacities. The only downside to these less expensive versions of the company’s P2 media is they do have a shelf life. But typical daily use should get you through five years before you need to replace them. If you use them once a week, that lifespan increases. All but the 64GB cards are available now. $420 (16GB), $625 (32GB) and $998 (64GB). www.panasonic.com
