loader_2

Usually a small incremental update to a useful tool isn’t worth its own post but in the case of Loader, moving to 1.1 it addressed one of my biggest complaints (though to be honest there’s not much to complain). Version 1.1 now allows you to move the Loader tab to either the left or the right side of your display. A small change but a big leap in user customization.

If you don’t know about loader then check it out. It’s a $49 application that allows you to add music (converting mp3s in the process), graphics and other types of media to an open Final Cut Pro project just via drag and drop. And it goes one better in that it  copies that media to a designated media folder on your media drive, helping to keep your FCP project organized. It’s a must have for FCP editors and especially new users who often end up with media scattered across multiple drives including their system drive.

New in version 1.1:

  • It is now possible to position the Loader window on the far left or far right of the display layout.
  • Still images or movies containing an alpha channel are now sent to Final Cut Pro with the default alpha channel mode set according to Loader preferences.
  • Easier entry of serial number when trial expires.
  • Minor bug fixes.
