Top Commercial Colorist Sees New Offhollywood Role as Opportunity to Explore Creative Potential Offered by RED ® Camera Images and Workflow

Leading digital cinema company Offhollywood today announced that acclaimed colorist Milan Boncich has joined the company. A specialist in demanding commercial work, Boncich brings a wealth of expertise and depth of artistic ability to Offhollywood's comprehensive RED ® camera-based production and post-production services.
"The RED workflow is becoming the way to work as far as visual creativity is concerned, and Offhollywood is deeply involved in everything to do with the RED camera," said Boncich. "I love film and grew up with it professionally, and it's exciting now to focus on an alternative technology that has great potential to fuel visual and creative growth in post-production for television, theater, and beyond. Offhollywood offers an ideal environment in which to explore what can be achieved with RED camera images."

“Many feature films today are starting to use more creative and innovative color grading techniques,” said Offhollywood CTO and Co-Founder Mark L. Pederson. “Our goal is to push Milan’s talent further by applying his skills to feature film and episodic television work in addition to commercials. We will also benefit from having his ‘eye’ on internal tests and research as we push forward with RED’s technology.”

Over an accomplished career spanning more than two decades, Boncich has collaborated with directors and DPs at the forefront of commercial, film, and visual effects work. He is well-established in the fashion and beauty sector, having worked with directors Matthew Rolston, Ken Nahoum, and Anita Madeira on campaigns for Revlon, Lancà´me, Maybelline, and Clairol. Boncich has also completed commercial and feature projects with directors Tarsem, Joe Pytka, Marcus Nispel, Bob Giraldi, Santiago Suarez, Pam Thomas, and Spike Lee.

Prior to joining Offhollywood, Boncich served as senior colorist at Tape House, ANX, Moving Images, and Post Logic. He has consistently earned industry awards for his work, a portion of which has been incorporated into the MOMA’s permanent collection. Boncich has also been instrumental in developing trends and establishing new standards in the filmmaking industry.

“Milan is well-known throughout the post world not only for his creative skill, but also for his ability to meet the specific demands of each director and project,” said Pederson. “In doing so, he has taken advantage of the technical and creative opportunities offered by the industry’s latest advances. With his commitment to building strong client relationships, pushing the quality of images and effects, and exploring the possibilities offered by new technologies such as RED, he’s a great addition to our team.”
