Freelance Production Experience Spans Commercial, Music Video and Film

New York production house COLLECTIVE has hired Ivy Dane as Executive Producer. The announcement marks the culmination of Dane's long-standing collaborative relationship with COLLECTIVE Director/Partner David McNamara; she previously spent two years as a freelance producer with the company, before evolving into a virtually exclusive partnership. With the appointment, Dane brings to COLLECTIVE 15+ years experience producing. Dane's most recent campaigns via COLLECTIVE include a riveting integrated PSA campaign for the Robin Hood Foundation, as well as the U.S. Marine Corps, AARP, Cox Communications, BCBS and Marathon Oil, to name a few.
“In keeping pace with client needs, production must constantly adapt – especially in light of evolving technology, emerging and interactive media,” says McNamara. “Having collaborated with Ivy [Dane] in years past, she’s the ideal EP to best position COLLECTIVE as we move into the future. She fits perfectly into our production model and culture, with a mutual joy and passion for what we do.”

Previously based in Austin, TX, Dane’s diverse freelance production experience spans commercial, music video and film. Working with a national roster of directors, Dane has helmed productions for clients including McCann-Erickson, GSD&M, DDB Needham, Grey, The Richards Group, Wieden + Kennedy and JWT; and brands and artists including Nike, McDonald’s, Sears, AT&T, Dell, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Lyle Lovett and Sara Evans.

Dane says the new EP role came as a natural evolution: “As a freelance producer, collaborating with David [McNamara] and COLLECTIVE has always been remarkable. Through the years, I’ve bonded with the company, personally and creatively.”

Dane’s philosophy as a producer is highlighted by her passion for understanding and accommodating client needs, with an emphasis on pooling the most effective support team and talent to make the creative soar; and her philosophy marries perfectly with the COLLECTIVE mantra: bring together the client’s goals and the vision of creatives into a collaborative atmosphere to produce the best commercial work.

“The COLLECTIVE production model is a huge draw for me,” expounds Dane. It’s built on versatility and caters to multiple platforms. With unique talents like David [McNamara] and Jeremy [Warshaw], COLLECTIVE has developed a solid, loyal client base that consistently returns – they see the value in our ‘sum of the whole’ philosophy.”

Citing Collective’s strength in offering diverse creative that goes beyond client expectations, Dane is eager to propel COLLECTIVE’s innovative production model by ramping up the company’s director roster – an initiative Dane envisions will culminate into boundless creative solutions. Essential to that vision is COLLECTIVE’s forthcoming, newly remodeled production studio. Working closely with McNamara, Dane was integral in realizing the soon to be launched studio, aptly dubbed “The Workshop.”
