Polecam Now Available from The Studio – B&H in NYC

The Studio – B&H has added the full line of Polecam’s portable video production systems.  The “Polecam Pro 1 System” model can be seen on display in the Studio’s showroom, which is adjacent to the B&H Superstore in New York City.

Located in midtown Manhattan, The Studio – B&H offers professionals the opportunity to get up close and personal with a selection of high-end products from well-known and trusted companies in the industry. Visitors can evaluate and compare equipment, watch live demos, and discuss technical and operational issues. The Studio is staffed by highly trained sales engineers who have spent years gaining real-world experience throughout the Pro Video industry.

Polecam training days and technology demonstrations at B&H are being planned, much like the one scheduled in Burbank on January 23, 2010 where Camera Support will be hosting a Polecam 3D technology demonstration and open house.

The Polecam range available from B&H Photo-Video includes a full system, ready configured with camera of choice, or a ‘bare-bones’ system for those have a camera and/or monitor or who wish to configure a system to their individual needs. Polecam was established in 1998 by extreme sports cameraman/director Steffan Hewitt. While directing a series of windsurfing kit commercials in Hawaii, he needed to obtain close wide-angle front sequences of a windsurfer in action, shot from a tracking boat or jet ski. Steffan improvised a rig comprising a miniature camera on a carbon-fiber windsurfing mast. Returning to Britain, he developed a lightweight go-anywhere rig with a remote joystick controlling a high-precision pan and tilt head.
