Press Release

The Digital Cinema Society (DCS), a nonprofit educational cooperative with an international membership now nearing 5,000 invites its members to participate in RED day on Saturday 13th February 2010 at the new RED Studios in Hollywood.   A special half day morning session will be devoted exclusively to Digital Cinema Society members.
This event follows on from recent highly successful RED presentations where sessions were limited to members of the ASC, CML subscribers, and current RED One owners.   Talk of the town following the first event was the new “Mysterium-X” sensor’s increased sensitivity and dynamic range, as well as a new workflow suite known as “REDCINE-X”.

DCS founder James Mathers comments, “At the February 13th event our members will enjoy an exclusive presentation, including some hands-on time with EPIC, Scarlet prototypes and their accessories.   Mysterium-X footage will be projected in 4K using the latest Sony 4K SXRD projector.   RED staff will be present to discuss the latest news and new post-production tools.   Also, given the rapid pace of RED technological advancement it’s not unreasonable to expect a surprise or two that wasn’t mentioned in the first presentations.”

For this event DCS membership is required and due to limited seating at the venue attendees MUST RSVP by NOON February 8th.   Current DCS members in good standing should RSVP by e-mail to: Mathers@DigitalCinemaSociety.org with name and “DCS RED Day” in the subject line.

Non DCS members need first be added to the DCS roster. To attend this event as a guest of the DCS use the complimentary trial membership link.   Better still sign up to join and support the Digital Cinema Society and pay $30 dues/initiation.  Guests or new members should RSVP after signing up.  DCS Free Trial Membership Link:
