VFX veteran formerly executive producer at Image Metrics and Digital Domain

Visual effects company Method Studios announced today that it has brought VFX veteran Patrick Davenport on board as Vice President of Operations at its Santa Monica location, where he will be responsible for overseeing Method’s facilities in both Los Angeles and New York.
“There is a lot happening at Method right now, and we are thrilled to have Patrick join our team to help steer new initiatives,” commented Gabby Gourrier, Senior Executive Producer, Method. “Having produced visual effects for both commercials and features, Patrick has unique experience and perspective that make him an ideal choice to manage Method’s technical pipeline.”

Originally from the UK, Davenport brings nearly two decades of visual effects experience to his position at Method. Prior to joining Method, Davenport served as Executive Producer at Image Metrics, where he worked on features such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and introduced the company’s proprietary performance-driven facial animation into VFX and animation markets globally. Davenport’s VFX experience in the US started with Digital Domain, where he was initially hired as Director of Digital Operations before being promoted to Executive Producer of Digital Domain’s commercial division in 2001. Davenport began his visual effects career at The Moving Picture Company in London, where he first joined the VFX department as a producer before being promoted to Director of VFX in 1995.

“I am incredibly pleased to be joining Method Studios at this point in its evolution,” said Davenport. “Method’s facilities on both coasts house a very robust pipeline and a fantastic team of VFX artists, and with a full slate of upcoming feature and commercial projects, I’m very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
