Spot Maker Returns to Production Company
After a year at start-up Cartel, director Matt Smukler returns to Los Angeles-based HELLO! for commercial representation. The helmer rejoins HELLO! hot on the heels of spots for the NFL Network, Digiorno Pizza, Reebok and a large-scale Oreo campaign starring funnyman Roy Jenkins (The Heartbreak Kid, Thank You for Smoking).
Says HELLO! EP Carl Swan, “We’ve always had a great working relationship with Matt. He’s an incredible and prolific talent, and we know how best to support him.” Adds Smukler, "I have a shorthand with the people at HELLO! They’re doing some exciting new work and adapt very quickly to changes in the industry. I also really missed the family atmosphere there.”
The director’s keen sense of observational humor and visual storytelling are best showcased in the aforementioned campaigns, as well as spots for 20th Century Fox’s The Omen, Xbox and M&M.
Smukler recently completed a Serta campaign starring Donald Trump out of Doner, Detroit, MI, which is slated to air later this month.
