Leading visual effects software company, The Foundry, today announced the release of Nuke 6.0v4, NukeX 6.0v4 and the launch of its Nuke plug-in installer

As part of the strategic alliance agreement between The Foundry and GenArts, signed in February this year, GenArts are the flagship partner and the first to offer their Sapphire plug-ins alongside those of The Foundry.
Nuke 6.0v4, NukeX 6.0v4 and all subsequent releases will offer a fully functioning six-week trial version of GenArts Sapphire at installation. This is double the trial period normally offered providing Nuke artists with a great opportunity to put Sapphire on Nuke through its paces – potentially on a live commercial project.
“Our new third-party program marks the first time that The Foundry has featured a partner’s plug-ins for Nuke and reinforces our commitment to plug-ins. We believe plug-ins can add a whole new dimension to Nuke making it more attractive to a variety of artists.” said Bill Collis, CEO, The Foundry.

“Our customers have consistently said that they view their host platform and plug-ins as a single, intertwined solution,” said Katherine Hays, CEO, GenArts. “We’re thrilled that Nuke users have such a seamless way to install a fully-functional Sapphire trial and explore its amazing benefits for a full six weeks. Our strategic alliance with The Foundry, and particularly this Sapphire trial feature of Nuke, is an excellent example of how our two companies are committed to working together to deliver unique value to artists.”

The Foundry is in discussions with a number of other plug-in providers to raise awareness of the excellent plug-ins available to Nuke artists and bring them within easy reach.
