AMMS Version 3.5 Now Provides Video Content Management throughout Content Lifecycle – from Creation to Publishing, Management, Delivery and Expiration
AMMS v3.5 includes out-of-the-box integrations with third-party CDN solutions that enable IT organizations to proactively manage how live and on-demand rich media content is delivered and expired over third-party CDN platforms. CDN platforms supported with AMMS v3.5 integrations include Riverbed, Blue Coat and Cisco CDNs and native Microsoft Windows Media Server environments.
AMMS Media Director is an administration console where IT users can establish Distribution Profiles, including publishing points and manifest files that schedule, execute and route content; business rules and workflows for publishing and expiration (notification, approvals); and Three-Tier Retention Management™, which provides rules for expiring content at the edge cache, portal library and database levels;
AMMS Media Services Agent is edge server software that runs as a service over WMS/IIS and is controlled by the AMMS Media Director. AMMS MSAs can serve as unification layer connecting edge locations, even across a hybrid, multicast/unicast environment.
AMMS v3.5 also includes significant functionality that enhances its utility as a uniform, video-based content repository. Using new, mass content ingest capabilities, clients can set watch folders that ingest new content ‘ along with links and content metadata ‘ into pre-set content categories. Audiences can play back the new presentations, whether Windows Media, Flash, Real or QuickTime, via the AMMS v3.5 Universal Media Player, which in turn tracks all viewership and includes the data in the system’s more than 40 performance measurement reports.
The new capabilities add to core functionality announced with AMMS v3, including a complete architectural platform re-design that leverages the Microsoft .NET framework for superior scalability, performance, reliability and extensibility; the industry’s most advanced, player-side viewer tracking and reporting even over multicast; and multi-tenant support, enabling multi-division, school or agency branding under a single administrative umbrella.
