High-Performance Connectivity for EMC Storage Environments
ATTO Technology, a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced that it will be showing its EMC E-Lab tested 8Gb/s and 4Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters and iSCSI Initiator at EMC World this week. ATTO’s Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs and Xtend SAN iSCSI Initiator provide high-performance Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN connectivity for EMC storage systems in Mac OS X environments. Mac users can now deploy scalable, high-availability enterprise storage solutions by using ATTO HBA’s and iSCSI software with EMC CLARiiON, and EMC Symmetrix networked storage systems or EMC Celerrra unified storage systems.
The ATTO Celerity line of 8Gb/s and 4Gb/s Fibre Channel host bus adapters include single-, dual- and quad-channel configurations that leverage over a decade of leading-edge technologies, stable drivers and proven interoperability to provide customers with reliable Fibre Channel connectivity. Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs feature ATTO’s proprietary MultiPath Director, a feature-rich solution that provides multiple redundant paths to EMC storage for high-availability access to data. With automatic path failover and load balancing capabilities, ATTO Fibre Channel host bus adapters, with MultiPath Director technology, provide uninterrupted access to storage and enable collaborative workflows by keeping data available in real time for multiple users.
Xtend SAN provides iSCSI SAN connectivity, error handling and security for EMC storage systems in Mac OS X environments. It is the first and most widely-distributed, standalone iSCSI initiator that allows Mac users to attach and load balance storage connected via an Ethernet-based network. With Xtend SAN, users can remotely access iSCSI storage from multiple servers, increasing accessibility and simplifying storage management, while leveraging existing IT expertise. The combination of Xtend SAN and EMC storage systems provides added value for customers whose environments require greater security and automation with features such as a scriptable Command Line Interface, Header and Data Digests, CHAP and iSNS support.
ATTO will also have on hand a sampling of its other product lines, including RAID adapters, RAID storage controllers, the newly-released 10GbE network adapters, and bridging products that connect disk and tape storage to Fibre Channel and iSCSI SANs.
“ATTO is delivering valuable connectivity solutions to customers looking to seamlessly integrate EMC storage into their Mac environments,” said Tom Kolniak, director of products for ATTO Technology. “ATTO’s high-performance Fibre Channel HBAs and iSCSI products present new opportunities for Mac customers to access storage media and digital content using EMC Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage systems.”
