The new Flux family of video capture and pre-processing hardware will make its IBC debut

Flux Capture and Pre-Processing Cards (new product)

The new Flux family of video capture and pre-processing hardware will make its IBC debut. Flux HD boards (click here for image) are the first cards optimized for encoding and streaming to feature dual-link and 3G-SDI input support. The Flux hardware builds on the advanced video processing technology that has earned our solutions their reputation for industry-leading encoding quality. Working in conjunction with the Digital Rapids Stream software, Flux cards enable real-time, multi-format media capture, encoding and streaming for applications including post production, Internet TV, IPTV, VOD, mobile video, archive and more.

Live Adaptive Streaming Encoders (new product and new versions)

The high-performance StreamZHD Live ABR adaptive streaming encoder (click here for image of StreamZHD Live ABR with Broadcast Manager) will also make its first IBC appearance. StreamZHD Live ABR encodes and streams live HD and SD content at unparalleled quality for delivery through the latest generation of adaptive streaming technologies including HTTP Dynamic Streaming for Adobe Flash Player; adaptive HTTP streaming to Apple iPhone and iPad; and Microsoft IIS Smooth Streaming. Adaptive bit rate delivery ensures that content consumers receive the highest quality viewing experience possible even under changing bandwidth and playback conditions. For multi-channel, enterprise-class deployments, multiple StreamZHD Live ABR encoders can be combined with the scalable Digital Rapids Broadcast Manager software for management, automation, scheduling, monitoring and failover. A new version of Broadcast Manager will be unveiled, with new features including automation for an expanded range of third-party video routers to manage incoming sources.

Adaptive streaming capabilities will also be featured in a new version of the TouchStream portable live streaming appliance. New additions include integrated IIS Smooth Streaming support and live encoding and segmenting for the iPhone and iPad. TouchStream appliances combine flexible features and outstanding quality with unparalleled ease of use through an intuitive touch-screen interface.  

Encoding and Transcoding for File-Based Workflows (new versions)

A new version of the software for our versatile StreamZHD multi-format encoding system will be introduced, building on StreamZHD’s industry-leading feature set with further extensions to its robust output, automation and workflow integration capabilities. StreamZHD provides unparalleled-quality capture and encoding to multiple simultaneous output formats from live and tape-based sources, providing the ideal gateway to file-based production, distribution and archive workflows. Also featuring the live streaming capabilities of our StreamZ Live encoders and transcoding from existing media files, StreamZHD provides unmatched flexibility, format support, efficiency and automation for applications from post production to multi-platform live and on-demand distribution. A new version of the enterprise-class Digital Rapids Transcode Manager ® distributed media transcoding software will also be unveiled. New features include automated ‘commercial black’ removal and a new user interface style. Transcode Manager provides efficient management, automation and exceptional performance for top-quality media transformation between acquisition, production, archive and distribution formats.

Efficient B2B Content Delivery (new version)

New enhancements to the MediaMesh content delivery system will be highlighted, including expanded output format support, multi-clip playlisting and extended capabilities in the portal-based MediaMesh Web Submitter. Built on the robust Digital Rapids C2 delivery framework, MediaMesh enables content ranging from ad spots to long-form programming to be transferred between content providers, contributors, aggregators and distribution partners efficiently, automatically and at substantial cost savings using terrestrial IP networks or satellite multicast. MediaMesh RX receiving appliances (click here for image) provide powerful functionality at the endpoints of the distribution chain, including integrated inventory management, review, transcoding, re-packaging and playout-all accessed through an intuitive graphical interface.
